About Us

My name is Erika Alicea and I'm the homeschooling mom of one amazing girl: Isabel Rose aka Izzy.  We reside in the Bronx, NY with my husband, who is the pastor of a church plant called Elements, and our adorable pup, Maggie.

I was first introduced to Miss Mason's educational philosophy through God-sent friends who are walking this journey with me. It was an answer to many of my prayers.

As I learn about all the beauty a Charlotte Mason Education has to offer, I've had to be creative in implementing her methods in the context of our city life and as a family of color.

My prayer is that my posts can be an encouragement to all, especially those who may feel Miss Mason's philosophy is not diverse enough or even possible for an urban family.
